■The BA.5 variant of Covid-19 is on the rise. Remain vigilant and increase your efforts to prevent infection.

◆Wear face masks as appropriate to prevent airborne infection.
 When wearing your mask, wear it correctly so that it covers your entire face.
 
◆Circulate air frequently to prevent airborne infection.
 Even if running the AC, open the windows for a few minutes every half hour.
 
◆Disinfect communal spaces frequently at schools and workplaces.
 It is especially important to sanitize items such as telephones which are exposed to significant amounts of airborne particulates.

■The new Omicron variant of Covid-19
The new Omicron variant of Covid-19 is making its rounds through the country. Preventative measures are also effective against this variant. Remember to avoid Confined spaces with poor air circulation, Crowded areas, and Close contact situations, and remember to always wear your mask and wash your hands!

Exercise extra caution when traveling outside of or returning from Tottori Prefecture.

Cautions after COVID-19 Vaccination

◎After receiving the vaccine, please remain seated for at least 15 minutes to be safe. (Please keep infection prevention while waiting.)

Vaccine Adverse Reactions

You may experience pain and swelling at the injection site, headache, muscle soreness, chills, fever, nausea and/or vomiting. Most of these symptoms subside within a few days.

You can receive medical treatment immediately at the site when you have a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction) after injection.

Take all possible precautions to protect yourself, your loved ones, and the health of your society.
 
■Discrimination toward and ill-treatment of individuals or families infected or undergoing treatment will not be tolerated. Do your part to provide support to all those suffering and seeking treatment.
 
■At particular risk are persons in close proximity (family, friends, loved ones), multiple occupants of a motor vehicle, and persons eating and drinking together.
 
■Infection spreads when removing face masks in the presence of close relations, and failure to maintain appropriate distance between friends in situations such as private dining, karaoke, etc.

■Patronize safe establishments. Shops and facilities displaying the stickers below are participants in protocol against infection.

■【Increase in Cases Reported Nationwide】 Exercise due caution when leaving and returning to the prefecture, and take all possible measures to prevent infection. Exercise particular caution when traveling to and returning from high-risk regions .

■【To visitors from outside the prefecture】:
The elderly and persons with pre-existing conditions are considered to be at high risk for COVID-19 infection. In Tottori, nearly 30% of the population is elderly, and medical resources including physicians and nursing staff are limited. The impact of increased incidence of infection would be considerable.
Take steps not only to protect yourself, but to ensure that you do not increase the spread of infection to others.

■The risk of infection is present everywhere. Do everything you can to avoid it.
